Garrods Lane Pty Ltd (Garrods Lane) has created this privacy statement to demonstrate our commitment to our customer’s privacy. The following discloses the information gathering and protection in use by Garrods Lane.
Collecting our customer’s personal information
At Garrods Lane, it is our mandate to provide a safe and secure on-line ordering system which protects customer information. Our online ordering system is used to gather information about our customers, enabling us to provide our unique online ordering service.
No information will be collected from browsing our website. Once customers have registered and created an account with Garrods Lane whether online, with a customer service representative or sales representative all personal details will be stored in the Garrods Lane database in order to facilitate current and future online purchasing and to provide prompt assistance should it be required.
Our web server uses cookies if the customer’s browser allows. The cookie is only used for shopping session purposes only and is not used for collecting individual customer details.
Use and security of our customer’s personal information
We collect customer contact information (name, address, e-mail address and phone numbers), financial information (credit card details) and product specifications (fabric selections, shirt or suit design specifications and body measurements) to process customer orders.
This information will be kept confidential and at no time will this information be traded, swapped, exchanged or sold to any other party or company. Garrods Lane will not use this information for any other purpose than to complete a customer order, to communicate with the customer to discuss associated problems or delays concerning their order(s), or to alert customers of current specials and news should the customer chose to be enrolled in our newsletter service. We may share this information and only that information which is absolutely necessary, with those third parties that are involved in the processing of customer orders. For example, the financial institution that issued a customer’s credit card and the shipping carrier that delivers a customer’s order.
All customer information is kept on a secure, offsite server and protected by firewall security systems.
Customers can access and update their details by logging into the Garrods Lane website. The access is achieved by using the email address associated with the customer account and a password. Passwords are stored on our server using one-way encryption technology. A forgotten password cannot be retrieved in its original form. A new password must be re-issued each time a customer makes such a request. Customers can have the re-issued new password sent to them by submitting the correct e-mail address
Credit Card Information
Customer credit card details are used for the purpose of payment of a customer order by third party banking (third party being Garrods Lane). Garrods Lane will at no time disclose this information for any purpose other than to use these details for the payment of a customer order. The customer gives us their authority to use these details for payment of their orders by using this website, completing an order form with a sales representative, or by submitting them through facsimile. All credit card details are encrypted during online data transfer using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. Credit card details are not stored in Garrods Lane databases or servers. Customers must submit their credit card details each time an order is placed.
Garrods Lane is committed to reducing fraud. Our policy is to prosecute any cases of fraud that we identify. First time customers may receive a telephone call or email requesting more information or proof (eg faxing a copy of the credit card) to confirm the details that have been supplied. If any of the information supplied is found to be false or misleading, Garrods Lane will, if we deem it appropriate, report this to the appropriate authorities.
E-mail Address
Customer supplied email addresses will be used by Garrods Lane for the sole purpose of extended customer service. Garrods Lane will only use customer email addresses to communicate with customers concerning the status, cost and shipping details, or any other changes required to an order.
Customer email addresses will be enrolled in the Garrods Lane newsletter mailing list, should the customer permit, and will be used by Garrods Lane for the sole purpose of sending regular newsletters. We maintain the newsletter email list database separately from the order database. Newsletters will not be sent to customer email addresses stored in the customer database or from customer who chose to not enrol in the Garrods Lane newsletter mailing list.
